Paul running for Rutgers University |
As a Division 1 quarter-and-half miler for Rutgers University in the 1980s, Paul Caminiti lived for the excitement and pure energy rush that came with every track meet. Over the years, through countless post-college races, including two New York City marathons, Caminiti continually worked to make his training regimen as stimulating—and effective—as his races. “It’s very easy to get stuck in one way of training and after a while that gets boring and it’s not very efficient,” he says. “No matter what the sport, I always felt that training should be as exciting and rewarding as game day.”
Working from that simple belief, Caminiti started Adrenaline Sports USA, Inc. Adrenaline uses dynamic group training techniques—all done outdoors—to dramatically improve speed, explosiveness, agility, core strength, endurance, flexibility, and mental strength. It doesn’t matter what the sport or how long the athlete has been involved, Caminiti says his program enables participants to reach maximum fitness levels that will translate into better performance on game day. And it’s all done in a fun, confidence-boosting environment. “This kind of training has been used by nearly every professional athlete, including Olympians, because it truly works,” Caminiti, 40, says. “We don’t use any equipment. We want to fine-tune the machine called the human body.”
And Caminiti is quick to point out that he completes the program with his students. “There’s nothing I’m asking them to do that I don’t do,” he says. “If someone is having a tough time, the group energy alone gets them through.” Caminiti says he is thrilled by the sense of accomplishment and mental fortitude he sees developing in his students. “Succeeding in any sport takes physical strength but an athlete’s mental strength is just as important,” he says. “At Adrenaline, we improve both.” |
